It's amazing how universal and ancient the ideas expoused in "The Secret" are.
Chuck Gallozzi said:
"You have heard people say, “What goes around, comes around.” But have you given that saying much thought? It is actually a modern way to express ancient wisdom. The Old Testament stated it this way “. . . they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.” (Job 4:8). At least 50 years before the birth of Christ, the Roman statesman, philosopher, and orator, Marcus T. Cicero, said, “As you have sown so shall you reap.” And in the New Testament we find, “…whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)"

It's the "Good News/Bad News" thing. The bad news is that we attract "bad" things with negative thinking. The good news is that we can control our thoughts and attitudes and attract as much "good" into our lives as we desire!
So, like was said so long ago, be careful what seeds you plant...a corn seed can't grow into a pumpkin...it must become a corn plant...it's our daily choice what kind of seeds we will plant!

I found this story today:

"Everyday is a gift". If everyone had this fellow's attitude, it would change the planet!

The title reminds me of a Family Circus cartoon, from 1994, my Mom had on her refrigerator. There were two kids talking and the girl says: "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a GIFT. That's why it's called the present!"
Besides being a very powerful idea, it is especially significant to me because the cartoon was published about 3 months before she passed. She was obviously undergoing major health challenges, but she always had a positive attitude.
